Siren
Why we kill.
I bit my lip,
causing it to bleed.
I let it fall
in between my teeth.
I savoured it,
as an offering,
and I bit my lip,
hoping you would kiss it clean.
I stirred the seas,
hoping youโd come back to me.
I let them drown,
in the storm of my own envy.
I held the stones,
to which I drowned myself,
when you decided,
I was your Parthenope.
I soothed the fever,
that was ailing your head,
with the gentle milk,
that I squeezed from my breast.
and in the siren sea,
you will not forget,
the woman you once deceived,
when all your men are dead.
